Transportation!

It is so hard to believe that we are only three weeks away from summer! This school year has flown by!

Our friends have had so much FUN learning about transportation this month. We have explored the various types of transportation (land, sea, air) and the different modes of transportation that we can use to get from place to place. 

Our dramatic play center has been transformed into a car mechanic shop, airport, and a summer/beach play with a boat. The friends have taken on roles as mechanic, customer, pilot, flight attendant, passenger, captain, employer, and more. They explored the various tools needed when working with cars and the different roles needed when traveling in an airplane. 

In the block center, our friends used blocks to build roads and bridges for traveling. 

  

  

 

In table toys the friends used their classification skills to identify which transportation vehicle was different. They also explored counting above 10, recognizing/identifying the number 10-20, and matching the counted objects to a number. 

  

 

In literacy, the friends used letters to spell out many transportation words and put together modes of transportation to also spell the transportation word. 

  

In science center this month, our friends used various materials to build bridges and roads. They also sorted transportation vehicles to show the type of transportation that it is. 

  

 

In the art center, our friends used various materials to create school buses, roads, hot air balloons, sailboats, and used stencils to create a transportation portrait. 

  

  

 

This will be our last blog post of the year! We have loved every minute of this school year and watching our friends learn and grow. It has been so fun to see their friendships flourish throughout this year and the joy they bring to each other each and every day!

As a reminder, our Graduation/End of Year Program will be Thursday, June 8th at 10:00! Our last day of school is Friday, June 9th!
